Once again a section of our campus will be transformed into a gallery of all things Community Ed! Thursday, October 18th from 5-8pm, come on down to view student and instructor paintings, photography, quilts, ceramics, live music, dance performances, bonsai demonstrations, face painting for the kids, food trucks for everyone, and more! It’s going to be a wonderful evening – don’t miss it!

Clovis Community Band Fall Concert
This Sunday – The Clovis Community Band presents their Fall Concert! This concert is FREE and will be held in the beautiful Paul Shaghoian Concert Hall on the Clovis North High School campus. The concert begins at 2:30pm – get there early to get a good seat.
What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon, listening to some wonderful live music from a 60+ member band, and it’s free!
The Paul Shaghoian Concert Hall is located in the Performing Arts Center (the PAC) at Clovis North High School – 2770 E. International Ave. in Fresno, near Willow and International. Beginning Crochet Class
Crocheting is becoming a lost art. This class will start you off in reviving this art. Crocheting will provide you with hours of relaxation and enjoyment while making beautiful creations for yourself, or gifts for family and friends. Learn the basic stitches, how to read patterns and understand abbreviations, and select yarn.
Bring sizes G, H, and I crochet hooks (preferably Boye brand) and one skein of #4 (worsted weight) yarn in a light solid color to the first meeting. Patterns for simple projects will be provided. If you have any questions about the class, please email the instructor at hollytennent!att.net.

NEW – Creative Writing
Do you have a story to tell that you just can’t seem to get from your brain to the page? Or are you just looking for new ways to spice up your writing? This course is for anyone looking to develop their writing skills while helping others do the same. The concentration of this course is individual writing, with the majority of the class time focused on workshopping peer essays. The remainder of the class time will be devoted to reading and discussing essays and works of short fiction to identify the basic elements of fiction, engaging in short writing exercises designed to develop tone, characterization, setting, etc. and discussing how to avoid common writing clichés. no experience is needed, this is for everyone interested in better expressing themselves through storytelling. Our instructor, Jenny Heaton has her Master’s Degree in English literature and is passionate about teaching others to write.

Learn Something New about Creative Writing with Clovis Community Ed!
Are you interested in sewing but not sure where to start? Does the thought of using a sewing machine seem daunting? This class is great for the absolute beginner! We will cover all the basics you need to get started from setting up your machine to learning basic sewing techniques. Students will complete 3 projects, and learn the following techniques: Straight, French and encased seams, turning/pivoting corners, box corners, hemming, creating handles and a casing.
Out instructor has been sewing for 20+ years and is a 3rd generation seamstress! Students will need to provide their own sewing machine and materials. *The first night of class is discussion only. You will not need to bring your machine, but you will receive a materials list.*

Acrylic Fluid Art
A great way to express your creativity! No experience is necessary to join this new class and learn to create some one of a kind pieces of art! This class is open to students age 14 and up, so it can be a fun family time of creativity as well.
Basic supplies will be provided, including paint. After the first class you will bring your own canvas, wood or tile to paint – whatever you desire! Wear old clothing because we will be getting messing with paint! If you have any questions, please feel free to email the instructor at firstname.lastname@example.org.
