24 Community Education | 559.327.2876 COMMUNITY EDUCATION ■ CREATIVE ARTS PHOTOGRAPHY PHOTOGRAPHY, DIGITAL – AN INTRODUCTION Do you own a digital camera and want to learn what those dials and buttons do? This class is for those who own a point & shoot, mirrorless, or entry DSLR camera The course covers some of the controls of the camera to allow the photographer to be a little more creative with their pictures. Students will learn how to organize their pictures on their computer, and share their photos with others. Basic computer skills are highly recommended. Bring a USB f lash drive to save your work. Class will meet at Dry Creek Park on Saturday 9/18. No class meeting 11/21. M 6:00-8:00pm 10/17-11/28 6 Classes CAE F1 Johnston $129 ART ART EXPLORATION: PAINTING AND PLAY Explore the possibilities of painting materials and techniques! Great for beginners or artists looking to break out of comfort-habits. Bring your curiosity and a willingness to play and experiment! This class emphasizes the art-making process itself, in addition to the final product. Abstraction, expressionism, mixed-media, and contemporary approaches to drawing and painting are strong influences of this course. Mediums will include acrylic, collage, oil pastel, and other basic as well as unconventional materials. You will also learn how to stretch and prime your own canvas. Students will purchase their own supplies - a list will be provided. The instructor is an artist with her Master of Fine Arts degree in Visual Art, and has taught art at various organizations, including museums and in the university setting.
