9 Career Technical Education – Nursing Office A8 Monday -Thursday 7:30 am - 4:30 pm Friday 7:30 am - 3:30 pm Call: 559-327-2860 NURSING & HEALTHCARE NURSE ASSISTANT (NA) PROGRAM Take advantage of the opportunity to become a state Certified Nurse Assistant. CNAs assist with direct health care needs for patients, under the supervision of a nurse. Whether this is your dream job or a step in the right direction, we’d love to help you get started! Note: Students must be able to stand for long periods of time, pushing, pulling, and lifting at least 50 lbs. Upon completion of course objectives, eligible students will take the state competency exam for state certification. NA class and clinical training includes: ■ Resident care skills and vital signs ■ Nutrition and emergency procedures ■ Rehabilitation and grooming NA Class Information: ■ 13 week program (220 hours) ■ Program cost $1,000 ■ Morning and Evening classes available ■ Additional costs approx. $500-$700 for ▶ Books, uniforms, supplies, etc. ▶ AE health requirements ■ State exam $130 ■ Student selection is on a first come first serve basis ■ Must have access to a laptop/ computer and reliable internet Requirements to be considered for the NA Program: ■ Must be 18 years or older ■ Pass the TABE Placement Tests in Reading and Math ■ Submit a Nurse Assistant Application within the application window with the following documents: ▶ Valid government issued photo I.D. (CA license required) ▶ Valid Social Security Card ▶ Have a current American Heart Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card Morning NA Schedule Evening NA Schedule ■ Monday thruThursday and 1 Saturday ■ AMTheory Classes 8:00 am - 12:00 pm ■ AMClinical Classes 6:45 am -12:00 pm ■ Monday thruThursday and 5 Saturdays ■ PMTheory Classes 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm ■ PM Clinical Classes 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm ■ Saturday Clinical Classes 6:30 am - 12:45 pm Upcoming Nurse Assistant classes ▶ February 2025 Please Note: ■ Clinical sites are held at various locations in Clovis, Fresno, and other surrounding counties ■ Students with felony or misdemeanor convictions may have issues with placements in clinicals or state certifications.
