This harmonica class can be just the incentive you need. This class is strictly for beginners, we start from scratch! Garrett Wimer has been playing the harmonica for 65 years and has had a lot of fun doing it! After this 4-week course, you should have several tunes under your belt as a basis to keep it up. Course requirement: Purchase your own diatonic harmonica in the key of C. You may also purchase one from the instructor ($5 range). Come join us and share in the “Aloha” spirit. This class is for the total beginner, no experience necessary. The course starts at the basic level for the person who has never played the instrument. You will learn all the basics; parts of the instrument, how to hold, tune, strum, chords, and a little history. You will be playing within the first class. Students will need to provide their own instrument. Music and handouts will be provided. No class meeting 11/19, 11/26 UKULELE - INTERMEDIATE This class is for the slightly experienced ukulele player. You should already be acquainted with the chords C, F, G, G7, Am, C7. Here we will cover more chords and songs which change chords a little faster. We’ll also introduce finger picking. Come and join us for fun. Every class we’ll pick songs out of the book and work on them as a group. You will learn how to play in different styles, and how to read music notation as mapped out in the book. “The Daily Ukulele” is a well-known songbook in the ukulele world, and this class will help you add to your playing repertoire. You will need to purchase either the hardcopy or Kindle version of the book, as well as your own ukulele. No class meeting 11/19, 11/26
