This is a beginner class where the students will learn strumming, basic chords, and music theory. Students will need to bring their own guitar. Handouts will be provided in class along with method book recommendations. Students are encouraged to return for ongoing learning. No class meeting 3/28, 4/18 . Come join us and share in the “Aloha” spirit. This class is for the total beginner, no experience necessary. The course starts at the basic level for the person who has never played the instrument. You will learn all the basics; parts of the instrument, how to hold, tune, strum, chords, and a little history. You will be playing within the first class. Students will need to provide their own instrument. Music and handouts will be provided. No class meeting 3/27 . You should already be acquainted with the chords C, F, G, G7, Am, C7. Here we will cover more chords and songs which change chords a little faster. We’ll also introduce finger picking.
