This class is for those who own a point & shoot, mirrorless, or entry DSLR camera. The course covers some of the controls of the camera to allow the photographer to be a little more creative with their pictures. Students will learn how to organize their pictures on their computer, and share their photos with others. Basic computer skills are highly recommended. Bring a USB flash drive to save your work. No class meeting 3/25, 4/1 . M 6:00-8:00pm 3/4-4/22 6 Classes CAE E3 Johnston $99 WRITING CREATIVE WRITING Always wanted to be a writer? Love writing but feeling stuck? Need some inspiration again? Let’s fill your well with inspiration! This is a class that will challenge you to try new things, explore new techniques, and be willing to “get messy” with your creative process. Rather than a traditional workshop where you work on one piece, or an overview of genre, this class will split our time between the examination of specific writing techniques, and then trying them by literally writing and sharing in session. By studying examples of effective writing in multiple styles (and trying to emulate them ourselves!) students will take with them a renewed sense of creativity and powerful skills to apply to their larger projects. T 6:00-7:30pm 1/23-2/27 6 Classes CAE D1 Hawkins $79 ■ PERSONAL ENRICHMENT FOREIGN LANGUAGE INTRODUCTION TO AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE Here’s your chance to learn the basics of ASL. The creative fusion of these countries’ culture and traditions and added to the first inhabitants of the archipelago, gave birth to the Filipino culture. In this class, we will discuss the basic expressions and conversational sentences where a negative response could actually mean “yes” (confusing, isn’t it?) Traditions that serve as a strong foundation, (like the mano po), will be explained. Finally, the last day students will learn about and sample some popular Filipino dishes like chicken adobo, lumpia (Filipino egg rolls), sinaing (boiled rice), and pancit (rice noodles). Overall, this class will give you a mini glimpse of what Filipino culture is about. No class meeting 3/28, 4/18.
