Graduates earn a Home Health Aide Certificate and State HHA Certification added to their CNA license. Home Health Aide Requirements ■ Must be 18 years or older ■ Active Nurse Assistant Certification ■ Valid government issued photo I.D. (California ID/License or passport) ■ Social Security Card OR Individual Taxpayers Identification Number (ITIN) ■ American Heart Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card ■ CAE health requirement packet ■ Solid scrub top, solid scrub bottoms, and white nursing shoes Prerequisite courses are offered three times a year (January, May, and September) and held in person on campus. A minimum grade of 78% is required for VN Program eligibility. Students must have a laptop/computer and reliable internet access. Registration is ONLINE ONLY. ■ Registration opens December 19, 2025 at 9:00pm ■ No registration after the first day of class has begun ■ Students must attend the first day of class or will be automatically dropped ■ There are no refunds after the second day of class Supplies: ■ Books are required on the first day of class ■ Books are not included in class fees, books are non-refundable Our Vocational Nurse program prepares students for careers as Licensed Vocational Nurses through classroom instruction and clinical training. Graduates gain the skills and knowledge to work confidently in hospitals, medical offices, long-term care facilities, and other healthcare settings. VN Program Application Requirements applicants must meet the following criteria: ■ Be 18 years or older ■ Pass the TABE Placement Tests in Reading and Math ■ Submit a completed Vocational Nurse Application online (during the application window) with: ○ Active Nurse Assistant Certification ○ Proof of at least 350 hours of CNA work experience within the past year ○ High school diploma, GED, or equivalent from an accredited institution ○ California-issued photo ID and valid Social Security card ○ Original birth certificate or certificate of naturalization ○ Current American Heart BLS CPR card ○ Two letters of recommendation (non-family, dated within18months) ○ One 2x2 passport photo ○ Completion of all prerequisite courses with a grade of 78% or higher Upon completion of the VN program, CAE students will qualify to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX).
