NEW – Creative Writing

Do you have a story to tell that you just can’t seem to get from your brain to the page?  Or are you just looking for new ways to spice up your writing?  This course is for anyone looking to develop their writing skills while helping others do the same.  The concentration of this course is individual writing, with the majority of the class time focused on workshopping peer essays.  The remainder of the class time will be devoted to reading and discussing essays and works of short fiction to identify the basic elements of fiction, engaging in short writing exercises designed to develop tone, characterization, setting, etc. and discussing how to avoid common writing clichés.  no experience is needed, this is for everyone interested in better expressing themselves through storytelling.  Our instructor, Jenny Heaton has her Master’s Degree in English literature and is passionate about teaching others to write.

Class begins Wednesday, 8/29-10/3 from 6:00-8:00pm, and cost is just $79.
