Did you know that our Community Choir and Band classes put on numerous concerts throughout the year? And most of them are FREE to attend!
Our next free concert is coming up Monday, July 23, 2018 at 7:00pm. Come enjoy Summer Band at the Shaghoian as they perform a variety of music, including selections from the movies “The Greatest Showman” and “Coco”! Our Summer Band is over 90 members strong, from all walks of life, including high school students all the way to retirees – folks who love to play music and perform.
The Paul Shaghoian Concert Hall is located in the Performing Arts Center on the Clovis North High School campus, at 2770 E. International Ave. near the corner of Willow and International. Admission for this concert is FREE! Arrive early to get a good seat, and bring the fam! What a great way to enjoy a summer evening, in the cool of the amazing concert hall, listening to great music with your family or friends.

Microsoft Excel – Beyond the Basics
Do you know how to work in Excel, but would like to be able to do more complicated tasks? This class will cover more advanced skills, like how to create linking formulas, copying worksheet structure, create name ranges, templates, protecting worksheets, and locking/unlocking cells for editing. Learn how to convert your spreadsheet to a table, use filter techniques, subtotaling and pivot-tables. You will use integration techniques to link your spreadsheet into a PowerPoint presentation and Word Document.

Are you or your spouse approaching 65? Are you helping a friend or family member with Medicare? Medicare is confusing…so let us simplify it.
In this class you will learn the different parts of Medicare, how it works, when and how to sign up or when to delay without penalty. If you are still on your employer plan, married and your spouse is under 65, there are solutions for you, too. you will better understand your Medicare options and the type of plan to choose for your budget, lifestyle and medical needs. Plus, we will show you how to find the best prescription drug plan for you, learn if you qualify for grants to help pay for your prescriptions, gain tips and tricks to stay out of the GAP, and find out if you qualify for Medi-Cal over the age of 65. Pick one class to get all your information! Snacks will be provided!

Earn Extra Income as a Loan Signing Agent
Notaries Public can make extra money as a Loan Signing Agent. No experience necessary! Lenders and title companies rely on loan signing agents to notarize and obtain signatures for real estate loan documents. If you have already taken the notary public course, take this course now and be ready to go once you get your notary commission! Agents generally make $75-150 per loan signing. Work only when you are available – no tome commitment required and no experience necessary!
Additional costs for added insurance, supplies and background check will be explained at the class. Bring a legal form of I.D. and a $40 class materials fee (includes course book, sample binder documents, examination and certification), payable to CA Notary Training Center, by cash or check.

Family Caregiver Support
If you are providing care for your mom, dad, husband, wife, grandparent or other family members, this class is for you. Learn to thrive and not just survive your caregiving journey. As you care for your family member, learn tips on how to manage caregiver stress, and how to develop a care plan as health care needs increase for you and your family member. Learn about community resources that are available like respite care and adult day centers, learn about the Importance of understanding your Medicare benefits as a Family Caregiver, and how to plan for long term care that includes a review of long term care settings and transition tips for family members.

Learn to create and care for your own Bonsai tree! You’ll begin with a pre-Bonsai tree and an empty pot, and move through the creation process. Discover how to shape, repot, treat illnesses, and proper water a Bonsai tree. You will also learn the history and traditions relating to Bonsai.
This class is designed for beginners of all ages, or for those who are looking to expand their knowledge. A variety of pre-Bonsai tree species will be used to ensure students find the tree that suits them.
Requirements: Students must bring their own straight edged garden hand shears, and a $30 material fee (cash or check) payable to the instructor – includes the Bonsai tree, pot, soil and wire.
This class is open to students 14 and up – parents, sign up with your teens for a fun evening together this summer, and learn a new hobby together!

Summer Session Starts July 9, 2018
Here at Community Ed we run classes year-round, and we have great ways for you to Learn Something New during the summer months! The Summer Session of classes begins Monday, July 9th – you can view all of our course offerings and register for classes on our website! Fitness, art, music, golf, tennis, cooking, computers, and much more! Most classes are offered in the evenings to accommodate work schedules, but see the catalog or website for full details on each class.

Learn Something New this summer with Clovis Community Ed!
Have a safe and happy 4th of July! Our summer session of classes begins Monday, July 9th – register online anytime for cooking, fitness, art, sports, dance, crafting, and more – we will be back in the office Monday at 8:00am.
Social Marketing for Small Businesses
This course will give small business owners how-to insights on some of the most popular social platforms of today, and tools to create fresh, creative content for those platforms. We will cover how to create effective Facebook and Instagram content and ads, how to create Snapchat filters for special events, and how to use tools like Canva to create beautiful, relevant content. We will also explore MailChimp and how to engage with people through email marketing. Yelp, and dealing with positive and negative reviews will also be discussed.
Class is held in our computer lab, so you get hands-on experience!
